Edition no.2
For Spring Summer 2020 we worked on the concept of lightness as an expression of freedom, rendering the invisible visible. Stressing this quality through the textured characteristics of the knits, their softness, translucency, porosity or plasticity, weight or lightness. A backdrop of tension between what is visible and what is out of sight, revealing beauty and mystery in the everyday.
The collection is deeply influenced
by the work of two female artists, Roni Horn and Rachel Whiteread, both mastering translucency and ambiguity. Whiteread’s works run from the modest to the monumental, balancing poetry and banality, while Horn’s reflect on mutability, the nature of identity and perception.
The Lightness Of Being
The color palette balances dark and light, the darker tones are softened by sheer textures while the lighter ones are both whimsical and effortless. Seaglass pale green, soft buttery yellow, pale lavender, bright indigo blue and a hint of light blue, mixed with the timeless black and off white to convey a feeling reminiscent of the calm after the storm.
Voluminous shapes layered on top of second skin fine knits, clean lines and textured textiles.
