Edition no.3
For fall winter 2020 we worked on the concept of comfort zones as an expression of intimacy, alluding to the invisible space we unconsciously create around our minds and bodies in relation to others to feel safe.
The collection is directly inspired by Allan Kaprow’s 1970’s happenings delving into the absurdity of social conventions we assume as our own, the emotional use of color in Agnes Martin’s work and the dichotomy of her measured and controlled lines in unusually soft and ethereal shades that seemed to float, and soft wavy shapes and spaces present in architecture and product design.
Comfort Zones
The color palette balances between the warmer embracing tones and the cooler tranquil ones. Mint green, washed out blue, pale lavender, buttery soft yellow, and a hint of earthy curry, mixed with charcoal and ice grey.
Structured knits in geometric shapes with rounded exposed seams are softened by the use of light and fluffy textured yarns, wrapping and enveloping, concealing and revealing.
